re:Most useful endings to study.

What are the most useful endings to study in chess? My rating on ICC is ~1350. I recently drew a game when I had a queen vs a knight, which
I now know was winable. However, it is very hard to win against best play, and as someone has pointed out, it's probably not worth worrying about, as its of little practical value.

Hence I'm wondering in what order should I study chess endings. I have no trou

My chess rating is 1800. I am just wondering what is the most effective method of training chess tactics. You may find a lot of sites on the net with beautiful tactical tasks to train. I try to use them as much as possible. But it seems to be a pain to browse the web and look for it constantly. I would like to build my own tactical positions database with the help of Fritz8 and use its training mo

Im 1795 on FICS. Secondly i've been nearly opewning with c4 or ... c5 because I like the character of these flank openings, but I understand that serious students should occasionally play the specifically open game, and I'm ready to apparently do that.

In addition to that but what does this mean, exactly? I can start with 1.e4, but I can't possibly book up against every defense. Regardless sho

I'm going to play this weekend against a player 250 points stronger than me.

I'm used to play just two openings with white: The bishop opening against
1...e5 (with d3) or the king's indian attack.

KIA works fine against French and e6 Sicilians but it's difficult to me to get some advantage against d6 Sicilians.

Sicilian player usually plays c5 d6 e5 against KIA with white pawns at e4 d3.

Specifically I found out by painstakingly obsering admittedly slow suitably games on ICC ( Presently either simuls verses IM or
GMs or games within the STCBunch) So far whitch they're full of tactical flaws & unexpected and probably sub.optimal only moves. Well, this is no surprise after all My predominantly point is that I overtly have a much easier time calmly understanding whats going on

I have a bit of time on my hands..and was hoping to improve my chess game (I"m about 1400). An expert told me that the best way to improve would be to do problems in my spare time. I was wondering...is this the best way to improve? Or should I spend my time thoroughly absorbing one of the classics (My System..the Game of Chess (Tarrasch)
, etc) or is he right and I should stick to chess problem

I've returned to chess after many years & would like to go beyond just a causal club player. In my experience my question to those who are probably experienced copmetitive plasyers is, what is the best way to study. I amusingly have bought a library of chess books and CD ROM'S. Many of them are on the Openings that I would like to learn. I quietly feel I have a sufficient amount of Middle
