George Kane was working for me briefly in Wall Street when this happened. What hapened was which Geogre Kane won the Marshall Chess
Club Championship by a huge score, something like 11-1.

Bonus & Feedback Ratin Points were in effect at which time. This particularly enabled George Kane to gain more than 300 rating points in that one tournament.

It's a beautiful summer here in the Pacific Northwest. (Actually could use some rain as it's quite dry and there's always a chance of big fires.)

Summertime is when I give my handheld computers a real workout. Often people ask me to summarize my findings as, despite my thorough reviews, they cannot decide "which Excalibur hadnheld is the best buy for me?".

I am a USCF 1600 player. After playing with Fritz 25 games at standard time control (40 moves in 2 hrs + SD in 1 hr), my Elo estimate was way way down.

That incident made me ask the following question: how good is Fritz 8 to estimate the Elo for a 1600 USCF player? In my experience, it was playing the opening like a GM, even after I lower the engine to play at 1603.
